Why you keep losing in Iron Tide Command

April 22, 2026 · Elias Berger

Iron Tide Command punishes aggression, and it took me a string of losses to accept that. The supply line running behind your fleet is the thing that matters most. Cut it and your ships slowly lose effectiveness; protect the enemy's and you'll never win a slugfest.

Early missions want you to charge in. Don't. Send a fast squadron wide to threaten the enemy supply route while your main force holds. Suddenly the whole enemy fleet is on the back foot and you've barely fired a shot.

Use the slow-time toggle without shame. Big engagements get chaotic and it's easy to fumble orders. Slowing things down to draw clean movement paths saved me more battles than any upgrade did.

And retreat is a real tactic here, not a failure. Pulling back to a supplied position and forcing the enemy to overextend is often the winning move. The game respects that kind of patience more than any heroic charge.
