Big Bass Boat
Big Bass Boat is one of those games that sneaks up on you. It looks simple — you pilot a small boat around a lake and cast a line — but there's a surprising amount of feel to it once you get going. The controls are all touch: drag to steer the boat, tap and hold to charge your cast, then release to send the lure out. Reeling in is a little rhythm minigame where you ease off when the line tension climbs too high.
What kept me coming back was how the lakes change. Early mornings have fish clustered near the reeds, and by midday you're chasing them out to deeper water. The game nudges you to pay attention to that instead of just spamming casts. I liked upgrading the boat too — a quieter motor genuinely helps you sneak up on skittish fish, which is a nice touch.
It's not a demanding game and it doesn't try to be. Sessions are short and stress-free, which makes it perfect for a bus ride. My only gripe is that later maps reuse a few too many assets, but the core loop of finding a good spot and landing a big catch stays satisfying.
